Celebrating Dr. D.

Yesterday, the world lost a great educator but heaven gained one of God’s treasured children.  Dr. Derryberry was my speech and debate coach at Southwest Baptist University.  The impact he had on my life is too tremendous to even begin to describe with mere words.  I am an educator today, in part, because of his encouragement that I pursue teaching others our shared love of rhetoric.  In fact, he was my connection to graduate school as he knew the debate coach at West Chester University where I obtained my master’s degree.

Here is a long list of beautiful descriptions of how God can use one man’s choice to live life well: http://www.facebook.com/sbucom
